School Uniform

We believe at Rice Lane that uniform is important. It gives the children a sense of belonging and takes away the element of competition with clothing. Wearing the correct school uniform shows the community that the children are proud to be a pupil at Rice Lane. We cannot do this without your support.

Uniform Policy states that the children must wear black sensible school shoes or black trainers.

Our school uniform for children in Reception, Key Stage 1 and 2 will be as follows:

– A white polo shirt (with or without the school logo, at parents’ discretion)

– A school cardigan, jumper or hoodie.

– Grey skirt, pinafore or trousers

The whole school PE kit will be:

– Burgundy t-shirt with the school logo

– Burgundy or black shorts.

– Black full-length leggings or plain black tracksuit bottoms (non-branded)

Nursery uniform:

– Yellow polo shirt (with or without the school logo, at parents’ discretion)

– Burgundy sweatshirt and pants with school logo on

Woodlands uniform:

– A white polo shirt (with or without the school logo, at parents’ discretion)

– A school cardigan or jumper

– Grey skirt, pinafore or trousers

Please note that children will no longer be required to wear a white shirt and tie.

Children may wear stud earrings which should be covered with a plaster during PE.

Children are required to bring in a book bag to school everyday. Please do not send your child in with a rucksack, as we have no facility to store such large items.

Please only send your child to school with a mobile phone if they walk to or from school without an adult. Children must switch their phone off and hand it in to the school office before the start of the school day. 

The majority of PE lessons will take place outside. On the day of PE, the children can wear black jogging bottoms with their PE t-shirt. A jumper or cardigan can be worn above this. Trainers will also be allowed to worn that day.
